Faith & Spirituality

You may have arrived here if:

  • You are curious about being more connected with your spiritual self.

  • You want to explore your faith or spiritual practices.

  • You are questioning your faith and spiritual beliefs and wanting to explore what they mean to you and how you want to interact with them.

  • You’ve noticed a lack of spiritual practices in your life and would like to return to them, explore or make new ones.

  • You were raised in a faith and want to process what those experiences were like for you.

  • You experienced spiritual abuse and want to process it.

  • You want to let go of unhelpful spiritual and faith-based beliefs that negatively impact your life.

What is Faith and Spirituality?

Faith would be a category of religious affiliation you identify with- such as Muslim, Buddhist, Christian etc. Spirituality would be framed as the practices that come out of those faith backgrounds or practices that recognise the feeling that there is something greater than you like God or The Universe- a higher power.

How will therapy help me with this?

Therapy will gift you the space to share your experiences safely without judgment. We can consider what faith and spirituality look like for you right now and how your life has been influenced by it. If there are things you would like to introduce in your life we can understand more about how they would be introduced and what it means to you. Faith can look different for everyone, but in this space, we can talk about it.

How might we interact with my faith and spirituality?

You may want to come to therapy to talk about your beliefs and things you struggle to understand or live out. We might use your faith background as a way to hold your story compassionately. You may also find that you want to introduce your spiritual practices such as prayer into your sessions or consider issues through your faith and spiritual lenses.
