Life Crises

You may have arrived here if:

  • You feel you are stuck and at a crossroads in life.

  • You feel you are just learning how to ‘adult’, adjusting to new responsibilities and beginning to find your feet.

  • You feel you are having a life crisis around yourself, your family, or your career.

  • You have noticed discomfort in life and want to understand more about it and shift it.

  • You feel like you are not moving towards your dreams and passions.

  • You feel you hold yourself back in life because of fear, anxiety or shame.

  • A nervous breakdown, burnout, lost passions or boredom with life resonates with you.

  • You experience inner conflict over specific decisions to decide.

What is a Life Crisis?

A Life Crisis is an experience or event that creates emotional turmoil, conflict, and emotional responses about actions that impact your life. This could be a divorce, losing a job, experiencing burnout, feeling your dreams are further away or waking up and realising you do not like the life you’ve found yourself in.

How will therapy help me with this?

Therapy will support you as you navigate this period of change and uncertainty. With this stability, you can create steps towards responding to your specific situation. This will also give you a place to consider options you didn’t think were possible and move through your crisis in ways that support you.

How might we work with my Crisis?

  • Look at how you can establish safety and calmness even in a crisis.

  • Establish a network of people you can lean on.

  • Address the crisis and what is occurring, but also what the meaning is.

  • What the crisis brings up for you and how you would like to respond to it.

  • Look at how the life event/s have impacted not just you, but others, and how this influences your relationships and connections.

  • Look at practical ways to move through it that feel doable for you and others involved.

  • Reintroduce self-care habits while you are experiencing changes in your life.

  • Help you to find your voice and the tools that will help you through this chapter.
